La Donaira
AboutHigh in the Serranía de Ronda, La Donaira is a nine-room retreat set across 700 hectares of meadows, ancient oaks, organic gardens and woodland. At its heart is a restored 111-year-old cortijo, surrounded by a working organic farm and a herd of free-roaming Lusitano horses.
Life here follows the land. Produce is grown on the estate and turned into seasonal, farm-to-table meals, while days can be spent riding through the hills, exploring the farm, swimming, visiting the spa or simply doing very little. The rooms are individually designed with antiques, original artwork, natural materials and views across the surrounding landscape.
What makes La Donaira stand out is that its approach to sustainability isn't an add-on. Regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, natural horsemanship and renewable energy are part of the way the estate operates. It's a place that feels less like a hotel and more like stepping into another way of living — quietly, close to the land and with plenty of space to breathe.
Meadows, oak forests, gardens and mountain trails surround the cortijo, with plenty of space to explore on foot or by bike.
❋ 700 Hectares of AndalusiaOrganic produce grown on the estate forms the basis of seasonal meals, connecting the kitchen directly to the land around it.
❋ From Farm to TableLa Donaira is home to a Lusitano stud farm and a natural horsemanship programme centred around a gentler relationship between horse and rider.
❋ The LusitanosThe spa, natural treatments, yoga and time outdoors are woven into the experience rather than treated as separate amenities.
