Uma Rattan was founded by Sophie O’Hare, an Indonesian-American design and interiors specialist with deep roots in Bali. Growing up with her grandmother Ingrid on the island, Sophie developed a lasting appreciation for Indonesian craftsmanship. Together with her mother Natasha, she created Uma Rattan to bring traditional Balinese rattan into contemporary homes.
Today, they work closely with Balinese artisans and a third-generation rattan-making family in Seminyak, while sourcing their rattan from Tenganan in Southeast Bali — helping keep the island’s traditional weaving craft part of modern life.
